Sarah Medway is a freelance graphic designer, web designer and photographer based in Kent near the borders of East Sussex and Surrey. Her work varies from all aspects of design for print, through to the concept, design and coding of web sites.

Her photography is a developing area that is gaining interest and she has exhibited in many shows and her images have been used in various publications and are in private collections.

"I've always been interested in designing record covers, posters, books etc from a really young age. I always knew I would be involved in art in some way. At the tender age of 10 I didn't really know about graphic design. When I was about 14 my art teacher at school helped direct me to graphics."

"My roots are in design for print. I did a two year Diploma at East Ham College in the East End of London and then went on to do a three year degree in Graphic Design at Ravensbourne College of Art in the leafy suburbs of Chislehurst, Kent. When I graduated I went to work in various design consultancies and advertising agencies. In the mid/late nineties I became really interested in the Internet and taught myself to code HTML, but I knew I was missing some critical elements. In 2000 I went to work for an Internet Technologies company, they taught me to code and gave me a great grounding in understanding how the Internet works. In 2003 I went freelance and have been ever since."

"My freelance business has been built up around my core skills - information design. The passion for me is to understand how my clients business works, their key USPs and how we can work together to convey, market and develop their business. My client base is extremely broad from Pension management to computer solutions for the gaming industry, through to film composers, clothing brands and furniture designers. "

Some recent projects include: 

Mary Leay - a new and emerging singer / songwriter. I got to know Mary and her management team, between us we worked together on a brand and web site to showcase her amazing voice and songs. 

Premier Pensions Management - I have worked closely with for about five years, from developing many elements from their corporate identity and literature through to exhibition stand. 

Yutani - is an IDM songwriter and  a new project that is in development,  we have worked together to develop the brand and identity, web site and other promotional material to follow soon. 

Henley Salt - an award winning landscape architects, gaining gold at Chelsea Flower Show. I worked with them developing a new identity, postcards, stationery, brochures, web site and last month an exhibition stand for Grand Designs Live.

"I also like to do promotional work for myself and think about fun ways to stretch out  - I have just completed a set of characters / illustrations for stickers and iPhone wallpapers, the later can be downloaded from my web site."

"Photography for me is another way to relax, landscapes are my passion. I love being outdoors with my camera, in the weather and keeping a watch on light. The whole experience allows me space to breathe and think. Photography has always been with me and a big part of my design degree. As an art director you need to be able to direct a photo shoot and therefore understand light and the mechanics of what a photographer does. "
